Sometimes I start to worry that my lack of effort in Words With Friends makes me appear stupid.

But then I just carry on living my life.

This was amazing. Because my internet has gone slow, I can’t properly watch the video so I can’t see whether or not I’m in it, but it was awesome.

Amanda Palmer- Ukulele Anthem.  I mostly want to learn the ukulele so I can play this.

So many things!

This is the first actual weekend in several months in which I haven’t had to be at work, dancing, or choir. And it is going very well. If we say the weekend started after I finished my classes at 1pm Friday, here are some awesome things that have happened:

  • I got a B+ on my latest philosophy essay, which I am happy with
  • I went to the Dresden Dolls gig at the Auckland Library. Highlights of this included Amanda crowdsurfing (on a group of people that were sitting down), Brian’s “drumming” on some plates, and a small child sitting next to Amanda while she was singing “Creep” (he was too shy to sing the lines that had “fuck” in them. It was adorable).
  • After a bit, I went to the Dresden Dolls actual gig. This was absolutely awesome. Is it weird that probably one of the best bits was just watching Brian’s facial expressions? I have this idea that scientists need to spend more time on cloning so Brian can have a band made up entirely of Brians. This should happen. ALSO. Richard O’Brien was there. And everyone did the Time Warp together.
  • In the morning I was a very successful breakfast-chef. I made scrambled eggs with chorizo, cinnamon raisin bagels, cheerios, bacon, and Ribena. It was GOOD.
  • Briar and I played Scrabble. I won. We also watched Child of Our Time. Robert Winston is a BOSS.
  • Movies and lunch at Pareen’s was good. Fun fun fun.
  • Now I’m at home and I’m very tired. But that’s all good. I also want to learn to play the ukulele properly.
  • I’m making up for my amazing Friday night by spending my Saturday night baking banana cupcakes and waltzing around the kitchen with my cat to the Dresden Dolls’ cover of The Rainbow Connection.
